The birthstone for December is Turquoise, perhaps the oldest stone in man's history. The Talisman of kings, shamans, and warriors. It is a stone of protection, soothing to the touch, healing to the eye, as if carved from an azure heaven.

Sandi Morey is one of Shady Lane's longest established artisans in the store (30+ years!).  Not only does she make gorgeous hand-knotted necklaces and earrings, but she also hosts and leads a family fireside sing-along called Sing Thing in the East Bay area. She is a very talented artist on many different fronts. Her jewelry is perfect for stacking multiple necklaces with the classic look of natural stones and pearls.
